Shettleston Retain National Road Relay Title, 3 April

The team made a solid start to the relay with Paul Sorrie finishing in 4th place to hand over to Teweldeberhan Mengisteab, who pulled the team up to second. In the 'B' team Lachlan Oates had an excellent first leg run to take 5th place.

Once Amanuel Hagos took the club into the lead by the end of stage 3, only Central AC stood between Shettleston and the title, with Kilbarchan and Inverclyde battling it out for the bronze medals.

Jethro Lennox and Allan Adams kept the club in pole position and despite a valiant attempt by Central's Ally Hay to close the gap on Tsegezab Woldemichael in the final stage, it wasn't enough to deny Shettleston the title.

A successful finale to the domestic winter season for the club and our Cross-Country Captain, John Mackay. Only the National CC title eluded the club and that by just a single point to Inverclyde AC.

English Athletics Half Marathon Championships -Wilmslow

Jethro Lennox in his final preparations for the London Marathon made sure Shettleston featured at the top end of the English National Championships when finishing 9th in a new PB time of 67.04. Strong wind slowed the runners making the time all the more impressive and a fast time of 51.13 at 10 miles shows his marathon PB will be under threat at the London Marathon in April.

Saturday (3rd April) sees the final race of the Scottish Winter fixtures with the six -stage relay at Livingston.
